Examples of Monitoring

I used the AR5000 together with the monitoring function of the AR5000RA-software for studying ionospheric radio wave propagation and natural radio frequency emissions at VLF, LF and MF, for examples click links below.

The active antenna DX-500 from RF-Systems and a custom made broad band
magnetic loop antenna of 0.6 m diameter were employed in these studies. For long term observations the power consumption of the measuring system should be paid attention to. My setup with a notebook computer and the AR5000 consumes 38 W/h. This is too much for a long lasting monitoring program but can be accepted for a couple of days of monitoring.
